Introduction to the insect warehouse: The science and technology museum has a total of 27,880 insect and mite specimens from 13 orders, 86 families, 848 species. The specimen collection can be traced back to the Aurora Museum founded in 1868 and the Asian Cultural Society founded in 1874. The Asian Cultural Society has 2,760 specimens and the Aurora Museum has 219 ecological specimens.
