Introduction to Diaojiaolou: Diaojiaolou is the best testimony of Tujia civilization and has a strong cultural atmosphere. Most of the buildings are built on steep hillsides. Four wooden pillars are erected at both ends of the house, and a wooden frame is set up along the direction of the hillside. Crossbars are then erected at the same height as the ground of the main house, covered with wooden boards, and half-mounted platforms are installed on three sides. The board walls or wooden corridors are covered with grass or cedar bark. The downstairs is empty on all sides and can be used for composting or temporarily tying animals; the upstairs is usually a place for daughters to make shoes, embroider or enjoy the shade.
