Introduction to the Wanshou Palace: The Wanshou Palace consists of two entrances. The first is the Lingguan Hall, where a red-bearded, three-eyed, protector of the law is enshrined. According to legend, the Lingguan, whose surname was Wang Mingshan, was born during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty. He was fair and just, hated evil as much as his enemies, subdued demons, and specialized in performing the tasks of patrolling and protecting the law in heaven and earth. He was known for his uprightness and selflessness, and was regarded as a protector in Taoism. After his death, he was named "Xiantian Lord General" by the Jade Emperor.
