Introduction to the Monument of Martyr Fang Hua: Fang Hua, whose original name was Li Shufang, served successively as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Red 30th Army, Director of the Political Department of the 99th Red Division, and Security Director of the Red 30th Army. In early 1938, he was selected by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to study aviation in Xinjiang and became the first batch of pilots of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1946, he returned to Yan'an and served as the captain of the Second Brigade of the People's Liberation Army Aviation School. In January 1949, he went to Tianjin to serve as the director of the North China Aviation Division of the People's Liberation Army. On June 28 of the same year, he died in a crash while flying near Changchun, Jilin.
