Introduction to Taoyao Fairy Cave: "Taoyao Fairy Cave" is an ancient cliff cave near "Quan Cliff Spraying Snow" and is also one of the Eight Scenic Spots of the Nine Palaces. The ancient cave is backed by Bijia Mountain and faces the snow-spraying cliff in front. There are unexpected boulders outside the cave and a clear spring inside the cave.
Legend has it that in the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin killed his brother Li Yuanji, and Li Yuanji’s concubines Tao and Yao fled to Xiajiepai Village in Jiugong Mountain. Concubine Tao gave birth to Li Yuanji’s posthumous son, Abao, and fostered him in an old woman’s house. Then he and Concubine Yao came to this cave to settle down and practice Taoism. According to historical records, Taoyao Cave used to have stone beds, stone tables, alchemy furnaces, medicine pounding mortars and other objects, but they are no longer there, except for the continuous flow of spring water.
