Introduction to the Main Hall: The Main Hall is located in the middle courtyard. It was first built in the 18th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1661). In the middle of the main hall, a seated statue of Sakyamuni is enshrined, with statues of his disciples Ananda and Kasyapa on both sides.
The altar table in front of the Buddha statue is 4 feet 8 feet high, 1 feet 2 feet wide and 2.5 feet deep. It has a vertical railing in front, 1.5 feet wide and 0.6 feet high. It is divided into five grids with deep hollows and patterns. The most famous scene is the scene where the emperor and the people welcomed Xuanzang back to Chang'an after studying Buddhist scriptures. It is said that this camphor wood carving took ten people a year to complete and is a rare wood carving treasure.
In the Wei Tuo Hall in front of the Main Hall, there is a wooden statue of Wei Tuo. He is dressed in armor and holds a pestle. He stands majestic and upright. His linear sword techniques are all in the style of the Tang Dynasty. It is an art treasure of Guiyuan Temple and an important part of Chinese sculpture art. a precious legacy.
