Introduction to the Shouyi Monument: In 1981, in order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Shouyi Uprising of 1911, the state allocated special funds to build a monument made of granite. The 11-meter-high monument was engraved with the words "Monument to the Shouyi Revolution in Wuchang, Xinhai Revolution" inscribed by Ye Jianying on the front of the monument. The inscription describes the process and great achievements of the Wuchang Revolution of 1911.
