Introduction to Master Xuanzang: Xuanzang (600-664), commonly known as Master Tripitaka, was an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty. He became a monk at the age of 13. In the first year of Zhenguan (627), Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty traveled west from Chang'an and went through many hardships to reach India. He returned to Chang'an in 645 and brought back 657 scriptures. In ten years, he and his disciples translated a total of 75 scriptures and 1,335 volumes. He also wrote 12 volumes of "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty", which recorded the 110 countries he experienced during his journey to the West and the 28 stories he witnessed.
