Introduction to the Yangshan Stele in Nanjing: The Yangshan Stele remains on the south slope of Yangshan on the northwest side of Tangshan Town in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing. It is also called the Xiaoling Stele. In the early Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, raised an army to seize the throne of his nephew. Later, it was decided to erect a huge stone monument to praise Zhu Yuanzhang's great achievements in order to stabilize the political situation.
The Yangshan stele was excavated from the Qixia limestone with good integrity and huge size in the mountain. It consists of three parts: the stele base, the stele forehead, and the stele body: the stele base is 17 meters high and weighs 16,250 tons; the stele forehead is 10 meters high. , weighing 6118 tons; the monument is 51 meters tall and weighs 8799 tons. If this monument is erected with a total height of 75 meters and a weight of 26,000 tons, it can be said to be the world's largest monument.
