Introduction to Xu Niang Pavilion: Xu Zhaopei, a native of Tan County, Donghai (now north of Tancheng, Shandong Province), was the granddaughter of Xu Xiaosi, Taiwei of Qi and Duke Wenzhong of Zhijiang in the Southern Dynasty, daughter of Xu Cui, general in the imperial court and Xinwu general, and the wife of Xiao Yi, Emperor Yuan of Liang Dynasty. In the 16th year of Tianjian, she married Xiao Yi, the king of eastern Hunan, and became the princess of eastern Hunan. After the marriage, Xiao Yi gave birth to his son Xiao Fang, the crown prince Zhongzhuang, and his daughter Xiao Hanzhen, the princess of Yichang.
