Introduction to Zhuge Liang's Reading Desk: Zhuge Liang, the famous Prime Minister of the Eastern Han Dynasty, once studied in Miancheng, and the ruins of the reading desk remain today, outside the ancient cypress gate of Miancheng. According to legend, Zhuge Liang came to Miancheng in the autumn of the eighth year of Jian'an (203) to marry Huang Chunu, the daughter of the famous scholar Huang Chengyan. After marriage, he studied astronomy, geography, art of war and other books on the reading table in the Huang Mansion Garden every day, creating a talent for the world. In the spring of the next year, after Zhuge Liang planted two cypress trees in front of the reading desk, he returned to Longzhong with his beloved wife Huang Chunu. Soon, he was invited by Liu Bei to visit the thatched cottage three times, to assist the Han Dynasty, and became the prime minister of Shu.
