Introduction to Pufo Temple: Formerly known as "Ganlu Temple", it is located outside Ximen City. This temple is surrounded by water on three sides and connected to a road on one side. There is a horse-washing pool in the south of the temple, Kangwang Bridge and Sima Bridge in the east, Xicheng Ancient Cypresses and Kongming Reading Platform in the west, military training field and resting pavilion in the north, surrounded by clear water, green pines and cypresses, creating a spectacular scene.
Legend has it that in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei were active in the border between Wu and Chu. One night when they were marching, the bright moon was in the sky and there were no clouds in the sky. Suddenly they saw a pavilion in front of them. When they walked into the pavilion to rest, Liu Bei suggested: " In order to strengthen the determination to prosper the Han Dynasty, destroy Cao Cao, and establish a country, it is best to make an oath." Guan Yu and Zhang Fei unanimously agreed. It was also agreed that a Ganlu Temple would be built to fulfill this wish. At this time, Guan Yu saw a lying green bull made of bluestone in front of the pavilion. He immediately waved the Qinglong Yanyue sword in his hand and struck at the lying green bull. He only heard an explosion and the bluestone was divided into two parts to show his determination to make an alliance. .
At that time, due to the greater power of Cao Cao, Liu, Guan, and Zhang had no choice but to use Jingzhou, the state of Wu, as a place to stay, recruit troops, buy horses, accumulate grass and store grain, in order to achieve their great cause. Soon, Liu, Guan, and Zhang fought in the north and south, won a wide range of cities, gained good generals, and prospered in their careers. One day, they remembered the pavilion and felt that their wish was unfulfilled. At that time, Mianyang had not yet established a county, and this area was under the jurisdiction of Jingzhou. It was agreed to build a Ganlu Temple on the Biyan Terrace here to fulfill this wish. Later, Liu, Guan and Zhang camped here to practice martial arts.
