Introduction to Sanmenxia Dam: The Sanmenxia Dam controls a drainage area of 688,400 square kilometers, accounting for 91.5% of the entire river basin area. The main dam is a concrete gravity dam. The maximum dam is 106 meters high and 713.2 meters long. The total installed capacity is 410,000 kilowatts and the average annual power generation is 1.1 billion kilowatt hours. After the dam was completed, it played a significant role and benefit in the Yellow River flood control, flood control, irrigation, power generation, water supply, and reduction of sedimentation.
