H.C Andersens Hus was first built in 1905 on the occasion of the centenary of Andersen's birth. Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) is a world-renowned fairy tale master. His works have been translated into more than 160 languages and he is one of the most popular writers in the world. Andersen was born in 1805 in a civilian family in Odense. His father was a cobbler and his mother was a washerwoman. At the age of 14, he went to the capital Copenhagen alone. With only 10 yuan, he lived in a small inn and began to pursue his dream. Ten years later, he finally entered university. After the age of 20, he traveled all over Europe and made many literary friends. At the age of 30, he published his first fairy tale. From the age of 42 to 62, he devoted himself to fairy tale creation. He wrote 108 fairy tales, travel poems, autobiographies and other literary works in his life. Among them, "The Daughter of the Sea", "The Ugly Duckling", "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "The Nightingale" are the most well-known.
