Chi You Ceremony Introduction: Every year, Chi You’s descendants from all over the country gather in Jiuli City to worship their ancestor Chi You. On the day of the sacrifice, the Miao people will dress up in costumes and hold a grand sacrifice ceremony. The sacrifice begins with lighting sickles to get fire, burning incense and candles, and paper money. Then iron cannons are fired and the Lusheng is played. The priest recited the sacrificial words, during which he drank nine rounds of wine and scattered the sacrifices nine times. After reciting, the mang tube and reed pipe are played again, the sacrificial cow is slaughtered, and the offerings are distributed to those present to eat together.
