Introduction to natural wetlands: The wetland area of the protected area reaches 98,000 hectares, accounting for approximately 60% of the total wetland area in Dunhuang City, including 34,300 hectares of reed swamps. In spring and summer, large areas of seasonal water accumulate in low-lying lands. Among the vegetation, the reed community is the largest and most typical vegetation type. In the lake basin area where water accumulates seasonally, a swamp-type reed community is formed.
