Penglai Pavilion It is one of the four famous towers in ancient China. It is an ancient building complex that embodies the wisdom and artistic crystallization of the ancient Han working people. It is known as a paradise on earth. It is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is said that Penglai, Yingzhou and Fangzhang are three fairy islands in the sea, where immortals live. It is also the place where Qin Shihuang went east to seek medicine and Emperor Wu of Han visited immortals. There is also a beautiful legend of "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, each showing their abilities". From a distance, the pavilions and halls are hidden in the green trees and perched high on the cliffs, like a fairy palace in mythology.Penglai Pavilion It was founded in the sixth year of Jiayou reign of the Song Dynasty (1061). In the seventeenth year of Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1589), Governor Li Dai added a number of buildings next to it. In the twenty-fourth year of Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1819), Prefect Yang Fengchang and General Liu Qinghe presided over the expansion, making it of a large scale, and it was later renovated many times. Penglai Pavilion It has been a gathering place for scholars and writers since ancient times, and has always been a place for Taoist practitioners to cultivate their true selves.

Penglai's traditional local festival celebrations mainly include temple fairs, Tashan Pear Blossom Festival and Fishing Lantern Festival. Currently, emerging local festival celebrations include Penglai Customs and Art Festival, Fishing Festival, etc. The festival period is quite lively and can well reflect the local folk characteristics of Penglai. Interested tourists can go and participate during the festival.

Penglai Pavilion Ticket Price:
The pass is 100 yuan per person; the entrance fee to Qi Jiguang’s hometown is 20 yuan.
Children under 1.3m are free, those over 1.3m are charged full price; seniors over 70 years old are free with ID card, and people of other ages are half price with senior citizen discount card.
