Introduction to the South Building: The South Building was built in 1906. It is a two-story Western-style building with a convex shape. It was originally called the "Animal and Mineral Exhibition Room Building" and later the "Museum", displaying four departments: real estate, history, fine arts, and education. The inscription by Zhang Jian displayed on the semicircular platform on the second floor expresses the purpose of founding the museum, which is to assist school education and popularize scientific and cultural knowledge. There is a pavilion on each side of the north gate of the South Pavilion, displaying the statues of the Three Qing Dynasties from the ancient Xuanmiao Temple.
