Namtso Lake It is the largest inland lake in Tibet, the second largest saltwater lake in my country after Qinghai Lake, and the highest lake in the world. Tour: The lakeside is the best place to take photos of the scenic beauty. If you sleep near the lakeside, you can get up in the morning to take photos of the rare sunrise over the lake.

Accommodation: There are mud houses on the lakeshore that can accommodate up to nine people. You can also stay in the mud enclosures at Dangxiong Military Station and Tibetan settlements for 10 yuan per person. The locals are very welcoming and lay palm mats on the ground. It is very cold at night, and cow dung for heating can only be purchased wholesale for 10 yuan per bag.

Shenhu Inn is Zaxi Peninsula One of the largest inns in the campground, there are some other tin houses by the lake. Meals are usually taken in the inn.

Food: Local specialties such as butter tea, kase, green pear wine, roasted liver, hand-pulled lamb, etc. are not to be missed and are worth a try.

How to get there:

There are no buses from Lhasa to Namtso. The nearest place to Namtso is Dangxiong Town on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. You can rent a car from Dangxiong or walk to Namtso. If you are lucky, you can hitchhike. Many travelers go together to rent a car, find a minibus, and pay 1,500 yuan for a two-day round trip.
