Ganden Monastery in Lhasa is the most special monastery among the six major monasteries of the Yellow Sect. It was personally planned and built by Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug Sect of Buddhism in 1409. It can be said to be the ancestral temple of the Gelug Sect. The monastery, together with Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery, is known as the "three major monasteries" in Lhasa. It is located on the south bank of the Lhasa River in Dagze County, Lhasa, at an altitude of 3,800 meters. Mount Wangpori It is 57 kilometers away from Lhasa. How to get there:

Minibus: Tourists can take a minibus at Lugu parking lot (near Jokhang Temple). The bus departs at 6:00 a.m. every day. The one-way fare is 10 yuan.

The return ticket is 20 yuan, and the journey takes about two hours. The original bus returns at 3:00-4:00 pm. You will stop at Sang'a Temple for a visit. You don't need to buy a ticket.

Tickets; tourists can also take the Ganden Monastery bus at the Lugu parking lot.

Self-driving: The Ganden Monastery intersection is located between the 4591km and 4592km of National Highway 318, and there are signposts on the roadside.
