Introduction to the memorial statue: In the 1960s, the land in Fengquan was thirsty and no vegetation could grow. In the spring of 1965, Si Wenyuan and others from Houguoliu village were quarrying rocks and burning ashes on Majia Mountain in their village. Where the cannon sounded, a cave was found with water in it. This discovery triggered an eight-year battle to dig out walls and divert water, rewriting the history of waterlessness and drought in Fengquan District.
