Introduction to Huangmen Zhang’s Jie Xiaofang: Exhibition hall No. 6 is the Huangmen Zhang’s Jie Xiaofang, also known as the Archway House. It was built in the Qing Dynasty. The three words "Jie Xiaofang" were written by Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty as a Jingbiao Confucianism. Huang Baochi, a scholar, personally inscribed it on the name of his wife Zhang. There are three rooms in the Archway House, a two-story structure. The ground floor has wooden flooring. It has a herringbone roof, hard-mounted purlins, and gables and eave walls with wall caps and crowns. This building cleverly combines the archway and the residence, which not only demonstrates the merits and reputation of the owner, but also provides living space for future generations. It is a typical representative of folk residences in southeastern Hubei, and its architectural features have extremely high research value.
