Introduction to Tiezhu Pavilion: Tiezhu Pavilion was built in memory of Shi Liangsheng, a relatively famous Taoist in Qionglong Mountain. He was the founder of Shangzhen Temple and his Taoist name was Tiezhu Taoist. Shi Liangsheng was born in Hengtang, Suzhou. At the age of 13, he went to Suzhou Chaozhen Temple to become a monk and learn Taoism. At the age of 23, he became a disciple of Xu Yanzhen and learned the Five Thunder Methods. Later, with the assistance of the former Ming Dynasty governor Wu Jinxi and the real person Zhang Yingjing, Shangzhen Temple was built and expanded to 5048 rooms. It became the Taoist center in the south of the Yangtze River and made immortal contributions to the development of Taoism in Suzhou. Therefore, this is where Shi Liangsheng often rested when he came down the mountain in his early years. Later generations built a pavilion here as a memorial.
