Introduction to the Lotus Root Pavilion: The Lotus Root Pavilion is the most important hall in the West Garden and the essence of Yiyuan. Hanging on the beam is a plaque inscribed by Gu Tinglong, a famous calligrapher from Suzhou, and on the screen door is a lightly engraved "Picture of the Garden". In front of the screen are placed a table, an Eight Immortals table, and a pair of Qing-style armchairs. There are marble screens and rock bonsai placed on the table, creating an elegant and natural atmosphere. There are couplets hung on both sides of the screen door, written by Gu Wenbin, the owner of Yiyuan.
