Introduction to the College Chapel: The Cardinal’s sarcophagus is stored under the main altar of the College Chapel. During the Spanish Civil War, the sarcophagus was destroyed and the statue on the outer wall was beheaded. Fortunately, the bishop’s body was protected. Arose and moved elsewhere, it is now just an empty, weathered coffin in the church.
