Introduction to Alcato University: Alcato University was founded in 1486 by Cardinal Cisneros. Most of the ancient buildings in the university were built in the 15th century. Thanks to the existence of this higher institution, the entire city of Alcalá began to transform in a cultural direction. During the more than 300 years before the university was moved to Madrid in 1836, the cities of Galderon, Quevedo, Vega, La Cruz and Hobo Most of the great figures of the Spanish Golden Age (16th and 17th centuries), including Llanos, studied here.
