Introduction to Plaza de Cibeles: Plaza de Cibeles, also translated as Plaza de Cibeles, is surrounded by neoclassical buildings, marble sculptures and fountains, and is the symbol of Madrid. Before the 19th century, the Cibeles Fountain and the Poseidon Fountain in Piazza Canovas to the south faced each other. Later, the city council decided to make them both face the city center. The Post Office Building behind the fountain is the most eye-catching building here.
