Introduction to the Municipal Square: The Municipal Plaza (Plaza de la Villa) is one of the most important squares in Madrid and is recognized as the most beautiful square in Madrid. In the center of the square stands the statue of Basan, Admiral of King Felipe II. The Lujanes Tower on the east side is the oldest civil building in Madrid, Cisnero House on the south side and Madrid City Hall on the west side. There is a narrow passage connecting them, and the square is surrounded on three sides by historical buildings built in different periods.
