Introduction to El Pardo Palace: El Pardo Palace (Palacio Real de El Pardo) was first built in the 15th century as the king's hunting residence. In 1547 AD, under the instructions of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, the hunting residence became a royal palace. After the Civil War, Franco of Spain has been using this palace. After his death, the palace was used as a place to entertain foreign heads of state who visited Spain.
