Introduction to Palacio de Liria: Palacio de Liria was established around 1770 by James Fitz-James Stuart, 3rd Duke of Berwick. It was passed down to members of the Alba family in the early 19th century. During the Spanish Civil War, the building's exterior was completely damaged and restored after the war. The palace is still a private residence and is owned by the 18th Duchess of Alba (Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, 18th Duchess of Alba).
