About Boise State University: Boise State University was founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church as Boise Junior College. It was reformed and renamed the University of Boise in 1969, and officially became the third university in the state in 1974, now Boise State University. The school now has the School of Applied Technology, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Finance, the School of Education and the School of Engineering, offering 201 degrees in 190 fields of study.
