Introduction to Male’ Ancient Mosque: Also known as Friday Mosque, it was built in 1656. It has unique coral building materials and curvilinear craftsmanship taken from the sea. Its wall decoration is made of coral stone cut into blocks and inlaid with gold and silver filigree. The temple has heavy wooden doors, various wooden lanterns hanging inside, and Arabic calligraphy intricately carved on the beams.
