The Château d'Amboise retains a rare Renaissance elegance and luxurious furnishings. It witnessed the splendor and vitality of the Valois court culture (Valois French dynasty 1328-1589, in the middle of the dynasty, France was basically unified). Many outstanding Italian artists moved to France during the Valois dynasty. The most famous of them, Leonardo da Vinci, spent the last three years of his life in this castle with King François I (French Renaissance monarch). How to get there:
Car: Take the A10 highway, exit Amboise, then take the D31 provincial road at 15 km and then the N152 national road.
Drive along the A28 motorway to the Tours sud interchange and take the A85 motorway.
By car, take the A85 motorway exit and take the D31 provincial road towards Amboise.

The TGV train station (Tours to Saint-Pierre-des-Corps) is 20 km from the castle, or take a combined train to Amboise station.
