Introduction to random stitch embroidery: Random stitch embroidery is a handicraft that originated in Changzhou, is well-known at home and abroad and is rich in distinctive regional characteristics. It is also a wonderful flower in the garden of Chinese embroidery art. Random stitch embroidery was founded in the early 20th century by Changzhou native Yang Shouyu. In 1944, his masterpiece "Roosevelt" came out and was presented to US President Roosevelt as a national gift. This work is now in the National Gallery of Art. Changzhou random stitch embroidery breaks through the flat embroidery method of traditional embroidery. It applies the colors of oil paintings and the lining method of sketches to the embroidery surface, organically combines the painting theory with the embroidery theory, and adopts flexible and changeable methods such as vertical and horizontal crossing, layered color addition, etc. Techniques make the works have artistic effects with rich colors, clear layers and strong three-dimensional effect.
