According to records, Mrs. Maya was pregnant and was about to give birth. One day she was playing in Lumbini Garden and walked under the Ashoka tree, where she gave birth to Prince Siddhartha. Nine dragons spit out pure water for the prince to bathe. Therefore, later generations of Buddhists will hold a grand "Buddha Bathing" ceremony to commemorate the birth of the Buddha.
