Travel tips for Tropic of Cancer Monument

The Tropic of Cancer Monument in Taiwan is an important geographical landmark, where tourists often take photos. The Tropic of Cancer is the northernmost point on the earth's surface that the sun can reach at about 12 noon on the summer solstice on June 22 every year. From this moment on, the northern hemisphere enters summer. Therefore, we can only see the astronomical phenomenon of "no shadow when the pole is erected" once a year. The Tropic of Cancer passes through 16 countries in the northern hemisphere, including Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan in my country. There are currently nine Tropic of Cancer monuments in the world, all on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Attractions distribution:

The Tropic of Cancer Memorial Tower was built in Fengbin Township, Hualien County in 2009. It is located on the eastern coast and faces the Pacific Ocean. It is about 20 meters high and built on an open field beside the ring road around the island. It is about 20 meters high and stands majestically on the coast of Taitung. There are spheres intersecting north and south and horizontally on the top of the monument. There is a narrow gap in the middle of the building, running east-west. The tropical and temperate zones are divided by the Tropic of Cancer. The four characters "Tropic of Cancer" are marked on the cylindrical signs facing north and south.
