Introduction to the Ireland Pavilion: Products: Works - 5
Author: Sarah Flynn
Introduction to the works: I graduated from the Crawford School of Art in 1998 and have been engaged in ceramics since then Work. The main focus of my work is the process of drawing and my love for some beautiful vessels. Initially, I enjoyed the challenge of practicing drawing with different types of porcelain clay, and then I restructured the vessels by hand and cutting to highlight movement and volume. The sealed space and mutual relationship between interior and exterior is what my work wants to express. Observing the changes in roads, paths, hedgerows and the materials I chose to form sculptural decorative vessels, all the jars placed together may have a relationship with each other and the current theme - creating a community and a home for the vessels, inviting everyone Appreciate the possibility of collective dynamics through inanimate objects. All of my pieces are fired in a gas kiln at 1280 degrees, which results in a variety of colors, with the finished product ranging from black or red to subtle greens and whites.
