Introduction to Lingxing Gate: The door in front of Panchi is called Lingxing Gate. In the Yuan Dynasty, it had two doors. In the Qing Dynasty, it was changed to three doors. There are words engraved on the forehead of the door. The word "Confucian Temple" on the middle door is the Confucius Temple. The east gate is engraved with "Virtue Matches Heaven and Earth", the west gate is engraved with "Dao Guan Ancient and Modern", and there is a unicorn on the top of the door.
In the past, there were strict regulations for entering and exiting these three gates. During the Confucius Ceremony, only the chief priests or the highest officials could enter and exit through the middle gate. General officials could go through the west gate, and the east gate was for staff.
