Introduction to Chaoshin Road: The road to the temple is a brick and stone path, commonly known as "Chaoshin Road". In 1668, Zhai Shiqi, the magistrate of Hancheng County, led the people of Zhichuan to expand the Sima Temple on a large scale, built an overpass on Sima Slope, transported the soil from Nanyuan to the front of the Sima Temple, and built the foundation of the temple. In front of the foundation of the church, a ditch several feet deep was filled in and a path to the shrine—the Shinto Path—was built. It is lower in the middle towards the Shinto Road and higher on both sides. It serves as a sidewalk on sunny days and as a drainage channel on rainy days. It is used for both purposes.
