Introduction to Shimen Reservoir: Shimen is a tunnel at the southern end of the Baoxie Plank Road. It was opened during the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The process of opening the tunnel was engraved on the cliff in the form of text. The opening of the stone gate and the precedent of the cliff inspired the literati and scholars in the past to carve inscriptions. On the east and west walls and the cliffs on both sides of the Bao River, a large number of inscriptions and records have been carved since the Han and Wei dynasties. There are 34 stone carvings left on the inner wall of the Shimen alone. Together with the stone carvings on the cliffs and river rocks in the north and south of the Shimen, the total number reaches 104.
