Introduction to the Forward: The Forward (or Fram) was the ship driven by the six-man expedition and is now preserved intact in the museum. FRAM is Norwegian, translated into English as Forward, which means moving forward. The ship took one year to build and was launched in 1892. It has a displacement of 402 tons, a length of 39 meters, a wooden hull, 220 horsepower, and is driven by a steam engine. It can be said that it is the biggest star of the entire museum. Since then, no ship has been to both the North Pole and the Antarctic.
