The Shanghai Museum is a large-scale museum of ancient Chinese art, which comprehensively reflects the glorious course of the development of ancient art in my country over the past 6,000 years. The museum has an exhibition area of 2,800 square meters and houses 120,000 precious cultural relics, among which bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings are the most distinctive. The richness and exquisite quality of the collections have earned it a high reputation at home and abroad. The Shanghai Museum is located at the southern end of People's Square in Huangpu District, Shanghai. It was founded in 1952 and has a Chinese bronze exhibition room, a Chinese ceramic exhibition room, a Chinese painting exhibition room and an ancient sculpture exhibition room. The Shanghai Museum has become a center for exhibition, exchange and research of art and cultural relics at home and abroad.

Attractions distribution:

The Shanghai Museum has two underground floors and five above-ground floors. It is divided into six functional areas: open area, warehouse area, academic area and scientific research area. The first to fourth floors above ground have 12 special galleries for bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, sculptures, jades, coins, ethnic minorities, crafts and two temporary exhibition halls.

Museum ticket prices:

Shanghai Museum ordinary ticket: 20 yuan/person.

Preferential policies:

1. Visitors holding retirement certificates or disability certificates can enjoy a half-price discount;

2. Students with ID: 5 yuan/person;

3. Package ticket: 60 yuan/person (multi-language guide equipment is provided);

4. Student visit card: monthly card 15 yuan, half-year card 25 yuan, annual card 35 yuan;

5. Parents can bring minors under the age of 16 to visit for free. Minors can visit for free. Each parent is limited to 2 minors.

6. Student groups must make reservations 2 weeks in advance for free visits. One teacher can accompany every 20 students for free, and the remaining teachers must purchase tickets separately;

7. Retired cadres, active military personnel, and people over 70 years old are exempt from tickets with their receipts.
