Introduction to Jiulong Pond: "Nine" is the most yang number; "Nine Dragons" is the largest yang dragon, or the dragon with the most masculine characteristics. Jiulong Tang is said to be the bathing pool of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. There are nine colorful dragons carved on the four walls of the upper pond on the stone Nine Dragons Causeway. The sound of the stone dragons on the Nine Dragons is like a chant, and its shape is reflected in the water, curling up and moving like a living creature, forming a scene of its own. This is why Jiulong Pond got its name. The sparkling blue waters of Jiulong Tang are like a fairyland in a fairyland. The palaces around the pool are symmetrical, with meandering verandahs and pavilions that complement each other in harmony.
