Introduction to Yancheng City Museum: Yancheng City Museum was founded in 1961. It is a local comprehensive museum that studies and reflects the history of Yancheng. The museum was originally located in Xicang Lane of the city. It was later moved to the old site of the New Fourth Army's rebuilt military headquarters - -In Taishan Temple, the total building area of the whole museum is 2,600 square meters, and the exhibition room area is about 1,600 square meters.
The Yancheng City Museum contains 18,000 representative historical relics and materials from the Neolithic period to the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the Yancheng area, as well as more than 4,000 revolutionary relics reflecting the history of the revolutionary struggle in the Yancheng area during the Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation. The basic displays of the museum include the Yancheng historical cultural relics display "From the Tide to the City" which reflects the 5,000-year history of Yancheng, the "Zhao Tailai Donated Cultural Relics Display", and the "Zhao Tailai Donated Religion" donated by Mr. Zhao Tailai, which mainly reflects the Tibetan Buddhist painting Thangka.
