Introduction to the Alligator: The Alligator is a rare species unique to China. Due to human destruction of its wild habitat, environmental pollution caused by the extensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and human hunting, the wild population has declined, with only more than 150 remaining. The number of wild giant pandas is far less than that of wild giant pandas. Therefore, the State Forestry Administration decided to launch the alligator wild reintroduction project to release artificially bred alligators into the wild to rejuvenate the wild alligator population.
