Introduction to Ba Jin and his former residence: Shen Congwen and Ba Jin met in Shanghai and they hit it off. In 1932, Ba Jin came to Qingdao as a guest. Shen Congwen gave him the cabin, lived in the school himself, and accompanied Ba Jin to visit various scenic spots in Qingdao. During a week in Qingdao, Ba Jin wrote the novel "Love" and wrote the preface to "Sand Sand". Ba Jin once recalled: "I had a great time at his place. I was casual and so was he, as if we had been dating for decades." That was only the second encounter between the two. Since then, Ba Jin and Shen Congwen have formed a deep friendship. In May 1988, Shen Congwen died of illness. Ba Jin wrote an article saying: "The literary and art world has lost an outstanding writer, and I have lost an upright and kind friend. The spiritual wealth he left behind will not disappear."
