Observation Deck Introduction: Climb to the observation deck on the right side of the gate of the Tengger Desert Scenic Area, where you can watch the "Iron Dragon Crossing the Sand", one of the eight scenic spots in Zhongwei. The viewing platform and lookout pavilion on the left are the best places to watch "the lonely smoke in the desert and the sunset over the long river" and to look at the ancient Great Wall and the beacon tower. The 43,000-square-kilometer Tengger Desert, with its vast sea of sand and rolling golden waves, came to an abrupt end and crouched at the foot of the Fragrant Mountain on the bank of the Yellow River. The ruins of the former frontier fortress of the Great Wall cross the Yellow River, grasslands, deserts, and wind up to the north bank of the Yellow River, forming a magnificent and unique picture of nature.
