Introduction to Martyr Ma Jun’s Tomb: The bronze statue of Martyr Ma Jun is located in the northwest corner of the Temple of the Sun. 10 meters further north of the bronze statue is the tomb of Martyr Ma Jun. The tomb is built of white marble, and the base is surrounded by white stones. The tombstone "Tomb of Hui Martyr Ma Jun" was inscribed by Deng Yingchao.
Ma Jun was one of the first Hui party members to join the party. During his lifetime, he led student movements and engaged in underground work in Tianjin, Harbin and other places. He once organized the "Awakening Society" in Tianjin with Zhou Enlai, Deng Yingchao and others. After the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, Ma Jun returned from Moscow and served as Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Organization. He was arrested for betrayal by a traitor and was killed by Zhang Zuolin in Beijing. He was buried in Ritan Park after his sacrifice. After the founding of New China, a grand public memorial ceremony was held here for Ma Jun.
