An introduction to Chang'an Temple: Chang'an Temple is located at the foot of Hutou Mountain more than a mile south of the park gate. It is also known as Shanying Temple and Shanying Chang'an Zen Forest. It was first built in the 17th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty ( 1504), it was one of the famous temples in Xishan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Chang'an Temple leans against green hills, faces east and is surrounded by red walls. It has two entrances and four entrances. It not only has the architectural characteristics of the Ming Dynasty, but also is a model of the official architectural practices of the Qing Dynasty. The Buddhist statues and instruments in the temple were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and have not been restored yet, so they are not open to tourists for the time being.
