Introduction to Jiufeng Villa: In the west of Bei'anhe Village, in the early years of the Republic of China, Beijing lawyer Lin Xinggui (also known as Pei Cheng) purchased the abandoned Xiufeng Temple and Xishan Debt Eliminating Temple during the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty. In order to succeed, Xiufeng Temple was renovated and renamed "Jiufeng Villa". Lin Xinggui came here every year from May to August during the Mid-Autumn Festival to escape the summer heat and established a poetry club.
Xiufeng Temple is a three-entrance hall, facing east from the west. It has three front halls, three middle halls, and two back halls. There are ten verandahs in the north and south, and a small Qingshui Ridge Gate is built in the south of the temple. There is a square pavilion with four corners built on the top platform. Lin Xinggui made full use of the corridors and verandas in the middle hall of the temple. Two columns in the back hall were reserved for the offices of the Buddhist Society. Twenty columns in the corridors in the north and south wings were used as resting places for Linquan Society. Three columns in the middle hall were used as Linquanshe's library. The three couplets in the front hall are "Fang Nong Thatched Cottage", which is where Lin Xinggui rested when he came to Jiufeng Villa to escape the summer heat. The three couplets in the north courtyard were donated to the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources as a place to stay.
